  • Reservation will be followed as per National / State reservation policy.
  • The Research Eligibility Test (RET) for Ph.D. programme in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science will be held on offline mode and the said RET examination will be conducted on 2nd April, 2025 at 2 P.M. in the department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science.
  • The last date for submission of application form – 31st March, 2025.
  • The entrance test will be of 75 marks. The question pattern will be of objective and short answer type. The Duration of the entrance test will be one and half hour. (The qualifying marks for Entrance test will be 50%)
  • An interview date will be announced after the publication of the result in the departmental notice board. RET qualified candidates and candidates having NET/SLET or have obtained DST INSPIRE Fellowship will be eligible for register for their Ph.D. in Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science after successful qualification of viva voce examination. (Viva voce marks -25)
  • Syllabus: M.Sc(Ag.) syllabus in the department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science, University of Calcutta.
  • Eligibility: Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master’s degree in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science or a degree declared equivalent to this Master’s degree by corresponding statutory regulating body of this University, with at least 55% marks in aggregates or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7 point scale or on equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and Accreditation Agency. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ Differently-abled candidates. Those who have qualified in NET/SLET or have obtained DST INSPIRE Fellowship would be exempted from the Ph.D. entrance test. They may directly submit a statement of purpose or research in brief and appear in the interview.
