The Admission Test for ISI will be held on 11 May (Sunday), 2025
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Degree and Diploma programmes mentioned below as well as Junior Research Fellowships offered by the Indian Statistical Institute.

3-year Bachelor of Statistics (Hons.) [B.Stat. (Hons.)]: Successful completion of 10+2 years of Higher Secondary Education (or its equivalent) with Mathematics and English as subjects. The programme is offered at Kolkata.
Stipend: Rs. 5000/- per month.

3-year Bachelor of Mathematics (Hons) [B Math (Hons)]: Successful completion of 10+2 years of Higher Secondary Education (or its equivalent) with Mathematics and English as subjects. The programme is offered at Bengaluru.
Stipend: Rs. 5000/- per month.

4-year Bachelor of Statistical Data Science (Hons) [B SDS (Hons)]: Successful completion of 10+2 years of Higher Secondary Education (or its equivalent)
- in 2024 or 2025,
- with (i) Mathematics / Applied Mathematics and (ii) English as subjects of study, and
- with at least 75% marks in aggregate.
The programme is concurrently offered in Kolkata, Delhi and Bengaluru. The courses will be taught in the hybrid mode.
Tuition fee: Rs. 1,00,000/- per semester. There will be provision for full waiver of tuition fee for SC-ST/ PwD candidates, and full or partial waiver based on family income.

2-year Master of Statistics [M Stat]: Must have a Bachelor's degree of three or more years' duration, in any discipline. The first year of the programme is offered at Delhi.
Stipend: Rs. 8000/- per month.

2-year Master of Mathematics [M Math]: Must have a Bachelor's degree of three or more years' duration, in any discipline. The programme is offered at Kolkata and Bengaluru.
Stipend: Rs. 8000/- per month.

2-year Master of Science in Quantitative Economics [MS (QE)]: Must have a bachelor's degree of three or more years' duration, in any discipline. The programme is offered at Delhi and Kolkata.
Stipend: Rs. 8000/- per month.

2-year Master of Science in Quality Management Science [MS (QMS)]: Must have a bachelor's degree of three or more years' duration, in any discipline. The first year of the programme is offered at Bengaluru and the second year in Hyderabad.
Stipend: Rs. 8000/- per month.

2-year Master of Science in Library and Information Science [MS (LIS)]: Must have a bachelor's degree of three or more years' duration, in any discipline. The programme is offered at Bengaluru.
Stipend: Rs. 8000/- per month.

2-year Master of Technology in Computer Science [M Tech (CS)]: Must have (i) a 4-year B.Tech./B.E. (or equivalent) degree in any stream or, (ii) a master's degree in any subject and have passed Mathematics at the 10+2 level. The programme is offered at Kolkata.
Stipend: Rs. 12400/- per month.
A candidate with a valid GATE score above a threshold (to be decided by the Selection Committee) in his/ her own subject is eligible for admission through direct interview.

2-year Master of Technology in Cryptology and Security [M Tech (CrS)]: Must have (i) a 4-year B.Tech./ B.E. (or equivalent) degree in any stream or, (ii) a master's degree in any subject and have passed Mathematics at the 10+2 level. The programme is offered at at Kolkata.
Stipend: Rs. 12400/- per month.
A candidate with a valid GATE score above a threshold (to be decided by the Selection Committee) in his/her own subject is eligible for admission through direct interview.

2-year Master of Technology in Quality, Reliability & Operations Research [M Tech (QROR)]: Must have (i) a Master's Degree in Statistics with Physics and Chemistry at the (10+2) level; or (ii) a Master's Degree in Operations Research / Mathematics & Computing, with adequate knowledge of Statistics & Probability at post?graduate level, and Physics and Chemistry at the (10+2) level; or (iii) a BE/B Tech degree.
The programme is offered in two streams:
- Statistics Stream for candidates with qualifications (i) or (ii) mentioned above;
- Engineering Stream for candidates with an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Technology as in (iii) above.
A candidate with a valid GATE score above a threshold (to be decided by the Selection Committee) in Statistics GATE Test Paper for Statistics Stream and any Engineering/Technology GATE Test Paper for Engineering Stream is eligible for admission through direct interview. Stipend: Rs. 12400/- per month.

1-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Statistical Methods and Analytics [PGDSMA]: (i) a 3-year bachelor's degree in any discipline with Mathematics as a subject or, (ii) a B.E./B.Tech. degree or any other qualification considered equivalent (such as AMIE). The programme is offered at ISI NE Centre at Tezpur and at Chennai. In Tezpur, 50% of the seats are reserved for domiciles of the North-East states of India.
Stipend: Rs. 3000/- per month ONLY for domiciles of the North-East States of India.

1-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Agricultural and Rural Management with Statistical Methods and Analytics [PGDARSMA]: a 3-year bachelor's degree in any discipline with Mathematics/ Statistics as a subject at the 10+2 level. The programme is offered at Giridih.

1-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Statistics [PGDAS]: a graduate degree in any subject and mathematics at the 10+2 or equivalent level. The programme is offered online by Coursera.
Applicant may directly apply through Coursera to register for this programme also. Those who qualify through the admission test of ISI will get a tuition waiver.

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF):

Statistics: (i) an M.Stat./M.Math. degree from ISI, or (ii) an M.A./M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Statistics. The programme is offered at Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai; registration for PhD in ISI is permitted.

Mathematics: (i) an M.Stat./M.Math. degree from ISI, or (ii) an M.A./M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Mathematics or, (iii) an M.E./M.Tech. degree or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject. The programme is offered at Kolkata, Delhi and Bengaluru; registration for PhD in ISI is permitted.

Quantitative Economics: a master's degree in any discipline with Economics/Mathematics/ Statistics as a subject at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The programme is offered at Kolkata and Delhi; registration for PhD in ISI permitted.

Computer Science: (i) an M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent degree in Electronics/Telecommunication/Radio Physics/ Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering/ Microwave Communications/ Information Technology/ Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology with Mathematics as a subject at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, or (ii) M. Stat./M.Sc./ M.C.A./ M.A. or equivalent degree in Physics/ Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Statistics/ Electronic Sciences/ Computer Science/ Atmospheric Science/Information Technology/ Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology with Mathematics as a subject at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The programme is offered at Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai; registration for PhD in ISI permitted.

Quality, Reliability & Operations Research: (i) an M.Tech./M.E./M.S. or equivalent degree in Quality/ Reliability/ Operations Research/ Industrial Engineering/ Production Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering, or (ii) a Master's degree in Statistic/ Mathematics/Operations Research/ Data Science with Mathematics as a subject at the postgraduate level. The programme is offered at Kolkata, Delhi and Hyderabad; registration for PhD in ISI permitted.

Physics and Applied Mathematics: (i) a Master's or equivalent degree in Physics/Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Statistics or (ii) an M.E./ M. Tech. Degree with mathematics and physics as subjects. The programme is offered at Kolkata.

Geology: an M.Sc. degree in Geology or in an equivalent subject with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. The programme is offered at Kolkata.

Biological Science (Agricultural and Ecological Research): an M.Sc. in Agricultural Entomology/ Plant Pathology/ Agriculture Biotechnology/ Biotechnology/ Botany/Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Environmental Sciences/ Life Sciences/ Zoology from a recognized University with good academic record. The programme is offered at Kolkata, Giridih and Tezpur.

Biological Science (Human Genetics): an M Sc or equivalent degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/ Genetics/ Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences/ Zoology. The programme is offered at Kolkata.

Linguistics: BA (Honours) in Linguistics/ English and MA (First Class) in Linguistics with specialization in Morphology/ Semantics/ Corpus Linguistics/ Natural Language Processing/ Computational Linguistics/ Applied Linguistics/ Lexicography/ Language Digitization/ Machine Translation. The programme is offered at Kolkata.

Sociology: An M A/M Sc or equivalent Master's degree in Sociology/Anthropology with specialization in Social Anthropology. The programme is offered at Giridih.

Library and Information Science: An MS (LIS) awarded by ISI or Associateship in Documentation and Information Science (awarded by ISI or NISCAIR/INSDOC) or its equivalent degree (such as Master's degree in Library and Information Science from any Indian/Foreign University). The programme is offered at Bengaluru.
Fellowships for 15(a) t o 15(l): Rs. 37000/- per month (details are available in the Prospectus).
Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in written test(s) and/or interviews, as applicable, conducted by the institute subject to satisfying the minimum academic qualification. Refer to the prospectus for more details.
