Government Medical College, Jagdalpur was established in 2006. The College is affiliated to Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla University, Raipur. Govt Medical College, Jagdalpur offers MBBS program for undergraduates. Even though the college is a recent entrant in the field of medical education in India, the College has managed to establish their name. With a view to ensure high standards in education imparted, the college has provided ample amenities to their students.

The medical college and the medical courses are recognized by Medical Council of India. The medical institution at present does not have Post Graduate Courses.
