Admission Notice for M.Sc. Microbiology - 25.06.2016

On-Line Application forms for admission to 1st Semester class for the session 2016-2017 for M.Sc. in Microbiology will be available from college website on and from 27th June (11:00 a.m.) to 9th July, 2016 (5:00 p.m.) on payment of Rs. 330/- (inclusive of bank charges of Rs 30/-).

Last date for payment of application fees in Bejoygarh Branch of Canara Bank (within the college campus) to Account no. 8566101004538, (MICR CODE 700015056 and IFSC CODE CNRB0008566) is 11th July, 2016 within 3:00 p.m. List of eligible candidates for appearing in the admission test will be published in the college website on 16th July, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

An admission test will be conducted on 19th July, 2016 in the college from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. comprising MCQs from different topics of B.Sc. Microbiology Honours syllabus. The total merit list prepared on the basis of the average of percentage of marks obtained in B.Sc. Microbiology Honours and marks in the admission test, will be published in the college website on 23rd July, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.

Counseling for the enlisted candidates in the merit list will be held on 26th July, 2016 at 12 noon. Admission dates for the selected candidates in the counseling are 26th & 27th July, 2016 (within 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

Candidature of the selected students in the 1st counseling shall be deemed cancelled upon their failure to get themselves admitted within these stipulated days and time. Subsequent merit list (2nd) for counseling, if required, will be published on-line on 29th July, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. in the college website according to the formula of merit list preparation as stated above. Intake capacity is 37.

60% of the total seats, i.e. 22 seats are reserved for students of the University of Calcutta, while the remaining 40% seats, i.e. 15 seats are open for the candidates of all the UGC Recognized Universities/Institutes of India, including University of Calcutta. Regarding SC/ST or physically challenged & OBC candidates, the existing government rules, as mentioned below will be strictly followed

Admission Qualifications

• A candidate who has passed with at least 40% marks in the B.Sc. Examination (10+2+3 system) with Microbiology as Honours or Major subject and having Chemistry as one of the general subject in Undergraduate level from a UGC recognized University/Institution can apply.
• However, no candidate shall be allowed for admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination as mentioned in clause 1 above. The year of admission shall not take into account while calculating three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
• If adequate number of ST candidates is not available, remaining seats shall be made available to SC candidates first. If adequate number of SC candidates is not available, remaining seats shall be made available to ST candidates first. If adequate number of SC & ST candidates are not available, even after that, the seats may be made available to General Category Candidates provided approval are available from Appropriate Government Department.

Documents to be produced at the time of admission test:

• Downloaded application form along with affixed photograph.
• Bank Challan (college & student copy).

General Rules and Regulations for Admission

• Admission taken on the basis of false statement or misstatement, found at any point of time shall be summarily cancelled.
• Forms will not be considered valid unless payment is made to the bank.
• Admission fees of Rs. 23,000/- (NON-REFUNDABLE) must be paid on the same date at the time of admission by cash only at Canara Bank (Bejoygarh Branch within College campus).
• If any candidate, whose name has appeared in the 1st merit list or subsequent merit lists as the case may be, fail to admit himself/herself within the stipulated date and time of admission notified in the college website even after verification of documents (list of which is mentioned below), his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

Documents to be produced at the time of admission :

• Application form printout (original).
• B.Sc. Marksheet for three years along with corresponding self attested Xerox copies.
• SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged Certificate (original & one self-signed photocopy).
• College leaving certificate (original).
• 2 copies of stamp size colour photo.
• Duly paid Applicant’s Copy and College Copy of Bank Challan.
