Admission to M.A. Course (2017-2019) in Russian
Department of Languages

• Eligibility : Applications are invited for admission to M.A. Course (2017-19) in Russian from candidates who have passed B.A.(Hons) in Russian/Pre-M.A in Russian OR any other qualification considered equivalent thereto.
• Application form and submission : Application forms for admission may be obtained at the Dept. of Languages on payment of Rs.100/- (Rs.50/-for SC/ST/PWD) payable at C.U. Cash section. The last date of submission (2p.m - 6p.m) of application at the office of the department is 08.08.2017.
• Number of seats : The number of seats to the course is 15(Fifteen). Reservation rules apply.
• Commencement of classes : The classes for the said course will commence on 11.08.2017. The schedule of classes will be announced in due course.
• Attendance during the session : Minimum 65% of the total classes held.

Examination scheme

The full marks for each paper (Part-I &Part-II) is 100 and the break-up is written: 75 + I.A.: 10 + viva: 15

At the end of first one year session, M.A.Part- I Examination will be held as per the following:

• Paper I : Practical Russian
• Paper II : Practical Translation
• Paper III : History and culture of Russia
• Paper IV : Introduction to Linguistics Modern Russian Language (Phonetics and lexicology)
• Paper V : History of Modern Russian Literature (19th century)

The M.A.Part-II examination will be held at the end of second year session as per the Following:

• Paper I : Practical Russian
• Paper II : History and Culture of Russia
• Paper III : Modern Russian Language (Morphology and Syntax)
• Paper IV : History of Modern Russian literature (20th century and onwards)
• Special Paper (Field study)
