Sundarban Ashutosh B.Ed College for Women is established in recognitionto the sacred memory of Late Ashutosh Manna, the beloved father of Mr. Gourhari Manna, the founder secretary of the college with a motto for the Advancement of learning by conducting secondary teachers' training course for the women of vast Sundarban Area of South 24 Parganas.
Women's teacher training centres are very dearth in our state. In this context the establishment of teacher's training college for women has become urgently needed in the interest of furtherance of education among the women. With a motto of this advancement of qualitative improvement of teacher education among women, this institution has been set up and accorded recognition from National Council for Teacher Education (N.C.T.E.) and affiliation from the University of Calcutta from the Session 2008-2009 .
