About
With the rapid growth of Kolkata beyond the frontiers of its southern fringes, the G.D. Birla Centre For Education was established in the year 1973 in what is now the bustling residential area of Ranikuthi, at the southern fringes of Kolkata. A girls' school from classes Lower Infant up to class XII, there is also a morning boys' section and an afternoon girls' section for classes XI and XII.
The morning section offers Science and Commerce Streams and the afternoon section offers Science Stream only. The school is affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
Admission
Every candidate must register with the school before appearing for interactive session / counselling / test.

Admission Procedure

Lower Infant :

The Prospectus-cum-Registration forms are issued in December-January for Lower Infant. Parents should come along with the child for an interactive session as per the date and time mentioned on the Receipt-cum-Admit Card.

The age limit for admission to Lower Infant is 3+ as on 1st April of the year of application. Parents must rank their preference of school in the Registration Form.

The following documents are to be submitted at the time of the interactive session :
  • Receipt-cum-Admit Card
  • Photocopy of the Birth Certificate from the Municipal Corporation (Original certificate to be brought for verification)
  • Registration Form duly filled and signed
Successful candidates are informed through post. No queries are entertained regarding this.

Upper Infant to Class IX :

Admission to classes Upper Infant to IX is generally in March/April and continues up to July. The numbers depend on the vacancies that occur in a particular class.

Parents should come along with the child concerned for the interactive session / test as per the date and time mentioned on the Receipt-cum-Admit Card. Parents must rank their preference of school in the Registration Form.

The following documents are to be submitted at the time of registration :
  • Receipt-cum-Admit Card.
  • Photocopy of the Birth Certificate from the Municipal Corporation (Original certificate to be brought for verification).
  • Registration Form duly filled and signed.
Only selected candidates will be intimated by post. Students must submit the original Transfer Certificate during admission. For student from outside West Bengal, original Transfer Certificates must be countersigned by the Education Officer / designated personnel of the Board / State concerned.

Class XI :

Admission to classes XI in Science, Humanities, Commerce Streams starts in March, but it is provisional till the submission of class X Pass Certificate and Mark Sheet. Admission continues up to the end of August.

Parents should come along with the candidate concerned for the interactive session as per the date and time mentioned on the Receipt-cum-Admit Card. Parents must rank their preference of Stream in the Registration Form.

The following documents are to be submitted at the time of registration :
  • Receipt-cum-Admit Card.
  • Registration Form duly filled and signed.
  • Attested photocopy of the Progress Report Card of the School last attended or attested Marksheet of the Class X Board Examination.
Only selected candidates will be intimated by post.
