Eligibility Criteria
C.U. Criteria To be Followed For Admission
- Top 4 subjects to be considered for aggregate.
- Compulsory Environmental education should not be taken into account for calculating aggregate.
- Candidate must pass with English as a subject with full marks 100 in the H.S. level.
For Honours
- A minimum of 50% in aggregate & 45% in the subject or related subject. Related subject for Sociology Honours is Psychology and Political Science. Related subject for Education Honours is Psychology, Philosophy, Mathematics, Sociology, Economics, Political Science and History. Candidates from Science and Commerce stream or any subject from Arts can select History and Political Science as Honours.
- 55% marks in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying exam.
- 50% in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in her previous qualifying examination provided all other clauses are satisfied.
- Minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% in the subject or related subject in the previous qualifying exam for SC, ST candidates(Certificate must be given for verification).

Candidate must pass H.S. or equivalent.

Related Subjects to be considered for Admission
Education Honours - Students who have not studied Education as a subject but have studied any of the following subjects,can apply :

Other Subjects
English Honours - Students must have English at 10+2 level. Students from Science and Commerce stream can also apply.
History Honours - Students from Science, Commerce stream and students who have not studied History in H.S. can also apply.
Political Science Honours - Students from Science, Commerce stream and students who have not studied the subject in H.S. can also apply.
Geography Honours - Students must have studied Geography at H.S. level.
Journalism and Mass Communication - Students must have English or Bengali as first language.
Communicative English (MAJOR) - Admission to be determined on the basis of marks in English.
Hindi Honours - Students who have studied Hindi in 10+2 can only apply.
B.F.A.D. - Students who have passed in 10+2 exam with any stream including vocational course can apply(Age no bar).
