B.A. & B.Sc. - General Information 2016-2017
- Filling up of online application form for admission will start from 16 May 2016 at 12 noon. Online filling up of application form for admission will close on 9 June 2016 at 1 pm.
- For online form fill up, please visit the college website : www.vidyamandira.ac.in
- One may fill up any number of application forms following the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the admission norms.
- Please read the instruction for online form fill up and follow accordingly.
- Students must bring their admit card and copy of bank challan/online payment receipt (proof of the submission of fees) on the dates of the Admission Test, Viva Voce (if you are selected after written Test), Date of admission (if you are selected after the Viva) and on the day of admission to the hostel. If any student fails to show these two documents mentioned above, his candidature will be rejected.
- Sample questions can be downloaded from the college website www.vidyamandira.ac.in.
- Only regular candidates who have passed the higher secondary/equivalent examination in 2016 or 2015 will be eligible to apply.
- Please note that if any candidate fails to fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned in our admission notice, his candidature will automatically stand cancelled at any point of admission procedure. The college authority will not be responsible for any such cancellation.
- The students who will be selected in the written test, must produce all relevant documents in original during the interview failing which their candidature will be cancelled.
IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE
- Please do not call over any phone number.
- Either email us or come directly to the college for any enquiry.
- Results of the entrance test and/or viva will be published on the website and on the college notice board.
- The college authority will not be responsible for any web-failure. Therefore, candidates may be requested to see the college notice board in case of any web-failure.
- No query will be entertained over the phone.
- The college authority will not be able to change the date and time of any entrance test or viva voce, if it coincides with the date and time of the entrance test/s of other institutions. Candidates and their guardians are earnestly requested not to make any such appeal.
- If any candidate finds that the time of his entrance test is coinciding with another subject/s in this college, he is requested to inform it to the principal after appearing in the first test. We will surely arrange for his other test/s.
- The candidates must see the date and time of his entrance tests.
- The college authority, under some unavoidable circumstances, will reserve the right to postpone the date and time of any part of the schedule as mentioned herewith. However, such change will be notified on the college website at least before 6 pm of the immediately preceding day. Hence, all candidates are requested to see the website after this hour to be sure of the date and timing.
Note :

Aggregate marks will be calculated as follows :
- West Bengal Higher Secondary candidates (2016/2015) : Bengali + English + top 3 subjects other than Bengali and English and excluding Environmental Studies.
- Other Boards (2016 or 2015): Top Four subjects excluding the compulsory Environmental Studies / Education.
- Total marks (theoretical + practical) for lab-based subjects would be taken into account for the subject marks.

SPECIAL NORMS FOR CERTAIN CATEGORIES :
(TO OBTAIN APPLICATION FORMS ONLY)
- The required qualifying marks for SC or ST are 10% less than that for General Candidates.
- Competent authorities to issue Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Certificate for admission to Colleges: (i) Additional District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer, Executive Magistrate, Block Development Officer within their respective jurisdiction in case of candidates claiming to be SC/ST and ordinarily residing within such jurisdiction ; (ii) Member of Parliament, Member of State Legislature, Member of Zilla Parishad, Councillor of Municipal Corporation, Commissioner of Municipality within their respective jurisdiction in case of candidates claiming to be SC/ST and ordinarily residing within such jurisdiction. - Reservation as per Government regulations.

ARRIVAL AT THE HOSTEL, START OF CLASSES ETC :
All the admitted students should report at the hostel on 3 July 2016, Sunday, between 1 pm and 5 pm.
Classes for students newly admitted to the 1st year degree course will begin on 4 July 2016 from 10.00 am.
Items necessary for Submission on the date of Admission to the hostel
- Two copies of 3.5cm X 3.5 cm recent photographs
- Attested copy of Madhyamik Admit Card and H.S. / Equivalent Marksheet
- Income Certificate/Salary Certificate
- Caste/ PH Certificate (if applicable) from competent authority
