Calculation of Agreegate :

For all applicants having two language subjects :
Total of the aggregate= FIRST Language+SECOND language+Best three out of the remaining three subjects
(For candidates with second language irrespective of board follow this rule) -
For all applicants having only ONE Language subjects:
Total of the aggregate= Language+Best four out of the remaining subjects.
(For candidates without second language irrespective of board follow this rule) - Compulsory Environmental Studies will not be considered in either case.

As per norms of the Burdwan University all candidates (Including reserve category) should have at least 45% marks in agregate at 10+2 level. In addition to that they have to secure the minimum marks in concerned and/or allied subjectsas stated below :

(Hons) in Geography willing to take Botany and Zoology as combination subjects must score 40% in Biology at 10+2 level and for Mathematics and Physics they must score 40% in Mathematics at 10+2 level.

As per norms of the Burdwan University, in case of following Honours subjects, if concern subject has not been taught at 10+2 level, marks of thev allied subjects will be considered for the preparation of the merit list.
- ECONOMICS : Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science
- POLITICAL SCIENCE : Sociolog
- MICROBIOLOGY, NUTRITION, ZOOLOGY : Biological Science
- MUSIC : Any student who has 10+2 and having aptitude in Music can apply.
- For any other subjects only concern subjects marks will be considered.

For B.A. General Course :
Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (Excluding compulsory ENVS) in the qualifying examination. -
For B.Sc. General Course (Physical Science) :
Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (Excluding compulsory ENVS) in the qualifying examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Geography. -
For B.Sc. General Course (Biological Science) :
Passed in at least five subjects of 100 marks each (Excluding compulsory ENVS) in the qualifying examination with Biological Science and Chemistry / Geography.

For B.A. General Course :
- If candidate is willing to take Music as combination subject she has to appear before the interview board.
