Minimum Essential Conditions (as prescribed by Calcutta University) for taking up Honours Course:

• Minimum 50% marks in Aggregate (Best of Four) and 45% in Subject/related subject at the previous qualifying examination
  OR
• 55% marks in the Subject/related subject
  OR
• 50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination

For General Course: Pass Marks at the previous qualifying examination

Special Conditions for admission to following Honours Courses:

• Honours in Economics: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Mathematics/Business Economics including Business Mathematics at 10+2 Level from W.B.Council OR in Mathematics/Business Mathematics at 10+2 Level from ISC/CBSE
• Honours in Mathematics: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination. Pass in Business Mathematics is not eligible.
• Honours in Chemistry: Must pass in Physics and Mathematics, and must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Chemistry at the previous qualifying examination
• Honours in Physics: Must pass in Mathematics and have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Physics at the previous qualifying examination
• Honours in Botany: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Botany/Biology/Bio-Technology at the previous qualifying examination
• Honours in Zoology: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Zoology/Biology/Bio-Technology at the previous qualifying examination
• B.Com Honours: Must have University Prescribed Minimum Marks in Accountancy/Business Economics including Business Mathematics/Business Organization/Mathematics/Business Mathematics/ Economics/ Statistics/ Business Studies/Office and Secretarial Practice/Financial Accounting/Elements of Cost Accountancy & Auditing/Book Keeping/Commerce/Cost Accountancy & Principle of Management

Essential Conditions for taking the following General Subjects:

• Statistics: Must pass in Statistics/Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination
• Computer Science: Must pass in Computer Application/Computer Science/ Physics and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination
• JMC: 50% marks in English/Bengali
