Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.)

The department of computer application is providing technical knowledge and quality programmes. MCA programme is of 3 years duration with 6 semesters.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Candidates who have scored 60% marks for degree examinations, recognised by any university are eligible to apply provided they have studied Electronics, Mathematics or Statistics as subjects.

Applicant except NRI quota must have passed the All Kerala MCA Entrance Examination conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala.

MANAGEMENT / COMMUNITY QUOTA

As per the present rule, candidates who meet the basic qualification as above may express their willingness in seats against the quota using the application form available in the office and shall appear for the test / interview.

SELECTION

For getting an admission the candidate should appear the MCA Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination, Government of Kerala.

Infrastructure

MBIT has a good infrastructure with 2 lounge, 6 class room,2 software lab,1 hardware lab,1 internet lab,library,well equipped auditorium, seminar hall,placement room,conference hall,sick room,cafeteria etc.

Library

Well equipped library having more than 2700 volumes of books.Library subscribes technical journals( national and inter national), periodicals etc.Library also contains ejournals.

Laboratory

Software
Laboratory consists of more than 65 nodes connected in LAN with advanced servers under Windows7, LINUX-Ubundu environments.

Hardware
MBIT supports a full fledged hardware lab with 35 systems which covers installations programmes for various operating systems, assembling and networking training headed by professionals.

Microprocessor
Separate Microprocessorlab with 8085 Microprocessor kit.

Internet

Separate lab for internet facility.Broadband access in all nodes.

Counseling

MBIT has a counseling team headed by two staff members.Per semester programme will be conducted by a well known counsellor.

Seminar Hall

Highly arranged seminar hall is provided for the students with audio visual facilities for PPT to present seminar, paper presentations with LCD projector facility.

Auditorium

An auditorium arranged with well equipped sound facility with 500 seating capacity for general purpose meeting and for indoor programmes.

Reprographic Center

College store for all purchases along with Reprographic facility is arranged for students with cheaper rate.

Hostel

Hostel accommodation is provided for both girls and boys.

Cafeteria

A small Cafeteria providing food at cheaper rate.

Mar Baselios Institute of Technology (MBIT) was established in the year of 2003 by the indefatigable and conscientious effort of the late Moran Mor Cyril Baselios Catholicos as the fulfillment of a long cherished dream of providing facilities for higher technical education to the people of the diocese and surrounding regions.
The main objective is to develop a college with a distinct identity and character where education and training are imparted in a truly Christian environment conducive to fostering Christian values such as faith in God, love for their fellow beings and devotion to the motherland. Every facility is provided in the campus to create an environment fully conducive to realizing this objective.

The administration and day-to-day management is being carried out by our patron His Beatitude Moran Mor Cardinal Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Supremo of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Major Archiepiscopal Eparchy and by the Director Prof. Dr. V.S. Jayakumar.
