Budge Budge College was established on the 10th December, 1971 at Achipore with the purpose of imparting meaningful education to the student of the locality who had to face serious problems in respect of admission in different Colleges in kolkata. It had a small beginning.
The College, at first, started in the domestic house donated by Late Rani Bala Dhar with a very limited number of students, teaching and non teaching staff. Subsequently, it was shifted to Senpukur wherein classes were held at a residential building donated by Late Charu Bala Dasi, wife of Lata Nagendra Nath Das.
Development is a continuous process. The College authority is fully aware of this end with this end in view various efforts are also being made to open subjects in new emerging areas such as Microbiology, Bio-Informatics, Biophysics, and Computer Application. At the same time, consolidation and expansion of the infrastructure are also other objectives of the College. Besides imparting conventional education, the attention of the College has also been focused on other multifarious activities of social sphere.
