Minimum Eligibility Criteria for Application 2016
- A candidate must have passed in 5 (five) CU-Recognised subjects of which one shall be English of 100 marks (Compulsory environmental studies paper shall not be considered as one of the five subjects).
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent examination in 2011 and onwards are eligible to seek admission to the first year B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. courses 2016 provided he or she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.
- For B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Honours Course: A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must obtain:
- A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination
Or
- 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. However for SC and ST candidates the requirement is 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
- A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination
- For B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.General Course: Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination securing pass marks in five subjects including English.
- Special conditions for admission to Honours Courses in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, Botany and Zoology :
B.Com. (Honours in Accounting and Finance): A pass-marks in Mathematics is compulsory for students applying from science stream.
Economics : A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Economics if he/she has passed in Mathematics with the requisite marks at the H.S. Examination (10+2) conducted by West Bengal Council of H.S. Education or its equivalent examination in Mathematics/ Business Mathematics. Students who have passed in Business Economics including Business Math in H.S. (10+2) level from W.B. Council of H.S. Education are also eligible for admission to the Honours Course in Economics.
Mathematics: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Mathematics if he/she has passed in Mathematics with the requisite marks for honours at the previous qualifying examination. However, a candidate who has passed Business Mathematics is not eligible for admission to Mathematics Honours Course.
Chemistry: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Chemistry if he/she has passed with the requisite marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
Physics: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Physics if he/she has passed with requisite marks in Mathematics at the previous qualifying examination.
Physiology: A candidate shall be allowed to take up Honours in Physiology if he/she has obtained requisite marks in the subject Physiology/ Biology/ Bio- technology and Chemistry in the previous qualifying examination.
Botany: The subject Biology/ Biotechnology be treated as related subject.
Zoology: The subject Biology/ Biotechnology be treated as related subject.
For B.Sc. Honours & B.Sc. General (Pure) courses pass in Chemistry is compulsory. For B.Com.General (Accounting and finance) students coming from science stream must pass in mathematics in the previous qualifying examination. - Students from agriculture and vocational stream are not eligible except for BA general. However, candidate who has passed HS (10+2) vocational examination in business and commerce conducted by WB State Council of Vocational Education and Training shall be eligible to seek admission to the B.Com. (General) course.
- A candidate must provide an authentic mobile phone number otherwise his/her admission will be cancelled. All the future correspondence will be made to the provided mobile number.
- Student must print one copy of the filled up application form which should be produced at the time of admission.
- The girl students who are enjoying the Kanyashree scholarship should produce the necessary documents at the time of admission.
