The college offers UG courses in Arts and Commerce. As an affiliated college of University of Calcutta, Kolkata the college follows the syllabi prescribed by the University for under graduate courses. In Arts faculty, the college offers Bengali, History, Education and Political Science Honours as subjects. The Accountancy Honours students are offered with all papers of Accounting and Finance group as stipulated by Calcutta University. In B.A General, the college offers History, Philosophy, Political Science and Education (any three) as elective papers. In B.COM General, the college offers all papers in Accounting and Finance group
Admission to the College is based on academic record. The Admission Committee of the College finalises the admission process keeping in view of the state Government policies and University guidelines. The reservation policy of the Government-of West Bengal is followed with a view to extending higher education to the underprivileged. The teaching is imparted through the Bengali medium. Home assignment, unit test, terminal and preliminary examinations are conducted to assess and evaluate the students. The lecture method is supplemented by encouraging the students to participate in group discussions, question-answer session and departmental seminars. Remedial classes are taken to prepare weak students for University examinations. The advanced learners are encouraged to participate in departmental seminars.
Cultural events like dance, drama, music are organised by the college with the active participation of the students and teachers. The annual college magazine "KATHAMALA" and wall papers are published by the college to provide a forum for the growth of Iiterary and writing abilities of the students.
