Savitri Girls’ College was established on September 14, 1972 by Savitri Educational
Charitable Trust. Late H. K. Jhajharia and M. L. Jalan became the Secretary and President of the College after its inception in 1972.
The purpose of the institution is to empower women through education and other developmental activities. To this end we try to devise a wide range of interesting and fruitful programmes which would in turn promote an atmosphere of intellectual alertness and good moral health. We aim to empower girls who come to us from less fortunate and privileged backgrounds so that they may recognise their potential and work towards becoming responsible citizens of the country. In the context of a globalised world, we try to prepare the students keeping the larger picture of their ambitions and functions once they leave the institution to take up employment outside. The college conducts through the various cells, societies, and especially the N.S.S, several programmes that may together give a holistic and comprehensive education to the student.
The College has been accredited in the year 2006 by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC).
