On the auspicious occasion of the 26 January, 1968, the foundation stone of this college was laid by His Holiness Sri Sri Swarupananda Paramahansa Deva. Established in the year 1970 and affiliated to the University of Calcutta and now to Vidyasager University, Paschim Mednipore, Sabang Sajanikanta Mahavidyalaya is a leading three-year degree college to disseminate higher education among the poor and disserving pupils of the south east region of the district. The college owes its origin to princely donation from Late Sajanikanta Giri. has already attained much reputed by overcoming the maladies prevailing in the field of education to a larger extent with a batch of experienced and energetic teachers, well-equipped library and laboratories and above all reliable and untiring administration. Like any other ideal college this one also has every potential to educate, guide and inspire the young learners and make them fit for their edge and Society.
