Ramakrishna Mission Residential College is one of the several in-campus educational institutions run by the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur -- a premier branch centre of the Ramakrishna Mission . The campus of the Ashrama occupies an area of 150 acres which stays rich green throughout the year.

The college endeavours to educate the young men in its charge according to the best traditions of the country, while instructing them in modern arts and science. In other words, as it prepares the students for university examinations it tries also in conformity with the educational ideas propounded by Swami Vivekananda, to attend to their all-round growth and development so that they may become strong and healthy individuals with sound moral principles, learn to respect the higher values of life and become conscious of their obligations to the poor masses around them. All this it does not so much by instruction, though that, too, is not neglected, as by involving them in a series of well-planned activities and creating an elevating, conducive atmosphere on the entire campus.
