Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore has invited applications for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master of Science (MS) programmes for the session 2016-17. The interested candidates can apply latest by November 10th, 2016.

Important Dates

Last date for the application to reach us is by	November 10th, 2016
Interviews will be scheduled from	December 05th to December 13th, 2016
Commencement of the programme (Joining Date) for selected students	January 01st, 2017

Information

You are welcome to submit the application for the mid-year research admissions to Ph.D. / M.S (Research) / M.S. (Engg.) programme of Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore.

The research programmes will be offered only in the Units detailed below :

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with an M.Sc., B.E., B.Tech., B.Pharm. / M.E., M.Tech. or MBBS are eligible to apply. They should have at least 50% in their highest University examination, and should also have qualified in the GATE / GPAT/ UGC -/ CSIR - NET-JRF/ ICMR - JRF / DBT-JRF /JEST / INSPIRE - JRF (only). The certificate of such examination should have the validity period for seeking admission to research programme as on 1 January 2017. Generally M.E./M.Tech students are required to qualify one of the exams mentioned above, however exceptional candidates without these exams may also be considered.

Application Process

You are requested to go through the following instructions before filling the application:

Please fill the application form completely; an incomplete application may be rejected.
No fee is involved to apply. If you are shortlisted for interview, fee will be collected only when the candidate appears for interview which will be informed separately.
There should not be any discrepancy found later in the information submitted in your application
Mention the qualifying national exam which you have got qualified/have been awarded with a award letter. Kindly note that your application will be screened only if you have qualified any one of the national exam.
As on 1st January 2017, the GATE/JEST/GPAT/JRF– of UGC/CSIR/INPSIRE/DBT/ICMR rank/score should be valid, else the application will be rejected.
Shortlisted candidates called for interview will be required to bring the originals of all the marksheets / certificates alongwith the photocopies. If the information submitted in the application found not true, the candidate will not be permitted to attend the interview. No exceptions will be granted whatsoever.

General Instruction

The award certificate of the national level examination(s) mentioned above, should have the validity period for seeking admission to research programme as on 1 January 2017.

The list of short listed candidates and other announcements regarding admission will be uploaded on www.jncasr.ac.in/admit website periodically.

The application form needs to be downloaded and neatly typed on the downloaded format (Only).
